WHAT WE DO:
The Got Your Back Movement is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to restore purpose, give hope, and show love by distributing school uniforms free of cost to children in need. Our mission is to create sustainable change in communities worldwide through the impact that education creates in all aspects of life. Our team consists of passionate individuals who are committed to seeing lives restored through the gift of clothing and who understand the power of a simple gift given in the name of love.
WHY UNIFORMS?
In recent years, there has been a global push to make uniforms mandatory in public schools. As this trend continues to gain traction, many children, especially those living in impoverished countries, are facing a new challenge. Even with education remaining free, the cost of required uniforms is often too great an expense for struggling families, even in countries like the United States. With 80% of humanity living on less than $10 a day, education many times becomes a distant dream. Got Your Back has focused our efforts on eliminating this burden by distributing school uniforms around the world. Through supplying uniforms free of cost, we hope to offer a pathway for children to gain an education and a chance at pursuing a better, safer, and healthier life.
WHY EDUCATION?
Nearly 1 billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names. For many of those individuals, finding a job to support themselves or their families will prove to be a daunting, if not impossible, task. Education provides the necessary tools to advance in today's work place and helps to create lasting and sustainable change for the good of communities worldwide. We believe the moment a uniform is delivered to a child, it becomes the tipping point in that child's life that has the power to change a village, a town, a city, a nation, a country… forever.
HOW WE HELP...
Got Your Back is dedicated to creating sustainable, long-term global change through clothing. Along with meeting the educational needs of children through our shirt for shirt uniform campaign, we are constantly making strides to boost local economies through our initiatives. In any community we work in, we seek out local tailors to produce every uniform we gift away. Whether it is a local business in the United States or a small group of women in a village in Africa, we are committed to seeing whole communities energized and forever changed through Got Your Back.
