My interest in Team Will began simple enough. I talked to past riders, did some research and concluded this was something I would very much like to participate in. Then in September, I visited UC Davis Children’s Hospital and everything came into perspective. I met children and families facing tremendous challenges with amazing courage. From that point on, ANYTHING I could do to help people in their situation became the LEAST I could do.
Riding in the 2012 Go The Distance cross country event will be an honor. Riding isn’t my contribution, it’s the prize. I’ll ride for every child with cancer who can’t right now. I’ll ride for every family dedicating themselves to the recovery of their children while giving up more than they should have to.
My hopes are simple: that as many children as possible “outgrow” cancer and as many families as possible emerge from their ordeal strong, vibrant and financially secure. Supporting Team Will can help and it is the least we can Do.
“Go the Distance 2012” is set for June 24 - July 3, 2012. This time riding from San Francisco, CA to Boston, MA, in 10 days, Team Will plans to cross 14 states, visit 18 hospitals and participate in 7 community rallies with a goal of raising $125,000 for family support services and childhood cancer research.
