The Human Development League, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to using the power of sport and education to unleash human potential.

We invite you to join us in creating solutions that will help us, together with others, lift people and communities out of poverty and change the course of history.

OUR MISSION

We have a two-part mission: (1) teach life skills and character development to young and underprivileged people all over the world through amateur sports instruction and competition and (2) promote the benefits of and provide financial support for academic education.

The Human Development League believes that using sports and education together is a powerful way to help people reach their potential.

Because of the devastating impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in the developing world and among marginalized populations, HIV-prevention education using sport-based activities is an important part of our life skills training.

We have a unique and innovative approach to development.

A DIFFERENT VISION

Our vision is one where nonprofit organizations and for-profit companies come together in innovative ways to help solve problems and raise awareness and funds through advertising campaigns and social networking that excite and engage the public, along with traditional sources of funding.

One that connects people from around the world, rich and poor, through the unifying power of sport to come together and help each other reach their greatest potential.

To succeed, we need ideas that are creative and innovative, but guided by research–with results that are both measurable and sustainable. And they should be developed with the full collaboration and support of the local community. The growing Sport for Development movement has already begun to pioneer some of these approaches. We look forward to working closely with many of these organizations to learn from and contribute to this process. And to succeed, we need all of you. Everyone has something to offer, a unique contribution and perspective.
