Over 14 million children in Africa are orphans. Many have lost their parents through HIV/AIDS and the majority of these children are forced to live alone on the streets where they face dangers that no child should ever be subject to. Their clothes are old and dirty, they are cold, lonely and hungry and many suffer from severe malnutrition.

There are not enough orphanages for these children to live in and those orphanages that do exist are usually over packed. These children have to live on the streets where they have no chance of an education and have to struggle hard everyday, just to survive.

Kenya is estimated to have 1.9 million orphans!

JOIN US IN THIS PROJECT AND HELP RAISE MONEY TO OPEN A NEW ORPHANAGE IN KENYA IN JANUARY 2011.

THE ORPHANAGE:

The Orphanage will be located in Mombasa, Kenya and will provide a loving home for 16 orphans aged between 2 and 10 years of age. We will open our hearts to these children and raise them in a loving family like environment. A local Kenyan lady will become the house Mother and another local lady will become the house Aunt. These 2 Ladies will create a "family" for the children and they will care for these children with the help of volunteers.

These children will be given a chance in life. They will become part of the "family" and they will receive all the necessities in life including a nutritious diet, access to healthcare and an education.


THE PLAN:

We will travel to Kenya in January 2011 to set up the orphanage but we must first raise a minimum of $30,000 USD to fund the orphanage and we also need to find a sponsor for each child.

The cost to sponsor a child in the orphanage is only $2 a day. For what we spend on a cup of coffee, we can give a child a safe, loving home with a warm bed to sleep in, clean water to drink, nutritious food, clothing, access to healthcare and an education.
