UPDATE! Thanks to everyone's continued support we have reached our intial goal of raising $5000 to complete phase 1. We could not have done this without you! That being said we are going to make the push into fundraising for phase 2 of Hostel Detroit's development. Help us reach $10,000 and get phase 2 of Hostel Detroit off the ground!
Hostel Detroit is planning on opening in April 2011, BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Phase 1 will be 14 bunkbeds and 1 full bed for couples, with expansion in the future, and a bed night costing $25/person. Hostel Detroit will be a clean, safe, and inexpensive place to stay for travelers who want to explore Downtown Detroit and its surrounding neighborhoods. The long-term mission of Hostel Detroit is to be part of the revitalization of the City of Detroit, and an active part of getting more of the young, “creative class” to move to Detroit.
We are working with Live to Give Foundation who is going to match EVERY $1 donated up to $6,000.
