A glimpse into reality...
The numbers are staggering. It is estimated that 250,000 to 500,000 children are being sexually exploited each year in the United States. The average age of the victims
recovered is 14, but have been as young as 10. Unless someone intervenes, these forgotten children will remain lost and alone. They need to be rescued. They need a
safe place to belong. They need a home.
Tragically, there are less than 50 beds in shelters dedicated to these girls. Rescued victims have specific needs and wounds that only specialized restoration facilities can offer. With no place to go, young victims must be charged with a crime and taken to Juvenile Hall—the only safe group “house” that currently exists. But these young girls are not criminals. They need to be loved and taken care of, not handcuffed.
Courage House in Rocklin, CA, is answering this need by providing a home for 60 girls who have been rescued from slavery!
This new home opens next month to receive the first six girls who will benefit from its ministry. We're partnering with Courage House in welcoming these girls home by buying them gift cards with your donations. The staff at Courage House wishes to take the girls shopping so they can each have something to call their own. These gifts will greatly encourage the girls as they begin their new lives of freedom!
