THE STORY:
Every 60 seconds, a child dies from malaria—a disease spread by a single mosquito bite. Join the UN Foundation’s Nothing But Nets to send life-saving bed nets to protect families throughout Africa. Malaria kills, but it’s easy to help. It takes $10 to buy an insecticide-treated net, deliver it to a family, and educate communities about its importance and use.
Nothing But Nets is a global, grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading cause of death among children in Africa. Inspired by sports columnist Rick Reilly, hundreds of thousands of people have joined the campaign that was created by the UN Foundation in 2006. Campaign partners include the National Basketball Association’s NBA Cares, The people of The United Methodist Church, and Major League Soccer’s MLS W.O.R.K.S.
