HERE'S THE STORY:
I was inspired to run the marathon by my mother, Jo Gwin Shelby. Although today she has ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease, she ran a number of marathons including the one in Boston.
Fortunately I was offered a spot in the NYC Marathon with PACE, a charity that raises money for Epilepsy research. A close friend, 15 year old, Morgan Fahey suffers from this disease and donations to PACE will be greatly appreciated by my mother and me.
