WHAT WE DO:

We produce and encourage investigative journalism in Iowa, collaborate with Iowa news outlets and educate journalism students.
Our goals are:
• To produce multimedia projects for the Center’s Website, IowaWatch.org, and to post other data accessible to readers and other news outlets;
• To collaborate with other news organizations and educational institutions by sharing stories and producing joint projects;
• To focus on Iowa’s public affairs issues (e.g., problems in government, health, consumer affairs, education, the environment, sports, criminal justice and other subjects relevant to Iowans).
• To give journalism students a chance to learn by working under the instruction of professional editors;
• To help journalism students and young professionals enhance their employment potential by allowing them to build a professional portfolio.

Stephen J. Berry SAYS:
Hey Iowans, a lot hardworking young men and women are working their tails off for free here at IowaWatch.org., and they are going to be producing some quality indepth and explanatory journalism on important issues that affect all of us. They already have done some great stuff, and on Wednesday, Sept. 8, they will have another major project. So check it out. Then show your support for a dedicated group of young adults who are trying to show you what serious public affairs journalism is all about.
