THE STORY:

Irvine is an environmental education organization. Our mission is to educate and inspire current and future generations to explore, respect and protect nature. At Irvine, we guide learning. We live green. We foster respect. And we thrive outdoors.

Irvine Nature Center is a non-profit educational organization, offering programs of environmental studies and natural science to children and adults. We provide these experiential learning opportunities in many forms, including: Programs for children, families and adults; The Nature Preschool; Summer Nature Camps; Special Events and Green Weddings.

We provide more than 500 program sessions annually to 50,000 children and adults. We also welcome visitors to explore our 116 acres of woodlands, wetlands and meadows; enjoy our resident animals; and our interactive exhibit hall free of charge. Irvine has emerged as a leader among Maryland's environmental education centers and incorporates a unique and comprehensive focus on the natural science of the Piedmont into its interactive exhibit hall and educational programming.

We are loved by Julie Bowen from ABC's Modern Family! Julie frequented Irvine as a child, supports environmental education for youngsters, is an honorary board member and has chaired two of our biggest fundraisers.
