THE STORY:

Dear Friends and Family,
Four years ago my husband Jason and I followed a dream and launched the Carr Educational Foundation to focus attention on the lack of access to education in the developing world...a year later we launched our first project, the Daraja Academy of Kenya which provides a unique and quality education to exceptional young Kenyan women who would otherwise have no access to secondary schooling. While I knew that what we were doing could change their lives...little did I know how much it would change my own.
Jason and I are joining a team of 77 strong on May15th for the 100th Annual Bay to Breakers race and partnering with the 77 Girls of Daraja in Kenya to raise money to support the new class of 2011 -- I am asking you to support my race on behalf of the girls. Your gift will provide access to education for an exceptional and promising young Kenyan girl who has no other way to get it...join us and make a difference to someone special! PLEASE Check out our video and see what makes Daraja so special!
I have grown to love every one of these girls and appreciate her unique story and challenges. Each one of them is bright and resilient having overcome incredible odds presented by poverty. YOU can ensure that they get the advantage of an excellent education -- something we all in the US take for granted.
Join us and make a contribution today!
