HERE'S THE STORY:
The Primary School of Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam was the first school ever to bring Jewish and Palestinian children together to learn in both their native languages. It has been the model for the few others that now exist in Israel.
Through the course of their education, children learn in Arabic and Hebrew, celebrate each other’s holidays and learn to respect differing historical narratives. At the same time, they learn to dance, create pieces of art with recycled materials, play soccer, perform in school plays, study music, dig for archaeological treasures, work to clean the environment, build a zoo and so much more as some of the only Jewish and Arab children in the region who have the chance to go to school together.
