HERE'S THE STORY:
From an early age I found out that I was happiest when I was serving others. When helping people who are less fortunate or struggling with a physical handicap it puts life in perspective..my problems seem small....my obstacles miniscule...and over time I learned that those I was trying to help had as much, if not more, to teach me about courage, determination and faith.
And borrowing some of that courage, faith and determination I decided to run the NYC marathon to raise money for Executives Without Borders in our efforts to strengthen nonprofit outcomes around the globe.
If people can bring cell phones to the hinterlands of Cambodia and Sudan can't they also help to deliver safe water? We think so...
This marathon will be a struggle for me...as multiple injuries make the training painful...but I have learned in life that nothing worth doing is ever easy.
At the same time you can make this journey less difficult. When people donate or send encouraging messages it makes the training runs a little easier. Helps numb a little bit of the pain. Makes me feel like it is worth it.
So please join me in this run. Your contribution makes a difference.
