I decided to study these because we're undergoing a revolution in how we find, process, store, use, and otherwise interact with information, and the choices we make in these fields are going to have a significant impact on how our lives look in the future. I'm talking about the ways we relate to other people, the ways we conduct our jobs and earn a living, the way we govern ourselves, and the very ways we think.
My favorite words are magnanimous, ebullience, and perspicacity. My favorite reference source is...well, I was going to say the OED because that follows that previous line nicely, but the Great Soviet Encyclopedia really has to take the cake, simply for its entertainment value.
