Stuff About Me:
I've been dreaming about going to Africa for as long as I can remember. I never knew where in Africa I had to go. After watching the Maasai train for the marathon, that pretty much sealed the deal for me. KENYA. I've been studying Swahili (albeit terribly) and reading about the Maasai, Kenya, the ecosystems, biodiversity, education and everything else I can get my hands on.
I've been running and training at events around me for the MWCT.
Also, I've been working the last 10 or so years on Ending Violence Against Women, women's rights, human rights, the MDG's and the UN.
More recently, I've been learning about MDR-TB (multi-drug resistant tuberculosis) and other infectious diseases in Haiti and other places around the world as well as ramping up my knowledge of conservation, climate change and the environment. Also, I've been learning more about Haiti and I think that's my next adventure.
