Starting Inauguration Day, The Huffington Post, The Skoll Foundation, and knowledge partner McKinsey & Company announce the JobRaising Challenge. It's a new kind of philanthropic narrative to help job-creating nonprofits raise money, raise awareness and help put Americans back to work through highly engaged, cost-efficient incentive fundraising.
The Skoll Foundation is donating $250,000 in prize money to the nonprofits that raise the most money on CrowdRise. The nonprofit that raises the most money will get $150k, the second will get $50k, and the third $30k.
The partners selected 74 finalists to compete in the JobRaising Challenge out of an outstanding pool of 217 nonprofits in 31 states and 110 cities. You can pledge your support now to the nonprofits whose missions resonate with you the most. Your voices and contributions will be essential in helping to solve the jobs crisis and will determine the recipients of the $250,000 in prizes.
Click the big DONATE button and give whatever you can. Every dollar counts.
Or go one step further and join one of our amazing charity teams and help 'em fundraise.
The organizations will blog throughout the competition on The Huffington Post and be featured promimently the site.
Together, we're acting on John Gardner's belief that "what we have before us are some breathtaking opportunities disguised as insoluble problems." So check it out, lend your support, and become someone's opportunity. And thank you for helping make JobRaising a success.
Thanks,Julia Kise & Mike DuBrul of Block O Pizza, not only for your generous donation but for your support of ECDI. See Julia's comments. Via Crowdrise
It will take anywhere from 3 seconds to 1 minute for your pic to upload, depending on how big it is.
You're going to see this message every time you post a new pic. So, we're making the text really long so that it'll take you at least five picture uploads to read it all. Here's what we're thinking...While you're first picture is uploading think about someone you want to kiss. When you upload your second pic think about one friend who you can beat in a race. On your third photo upload think about your favorite food that begins with the letter H. While your fourth picture is uploading think about how great it would be if you were a world class breakdancer. While your fifth picture is uploading try to think of the best candy to eat if you were a mime spending a month in New Zealand. If you upload a sixth and seventh picture please just read all of this again.

We're setting up your Fundraiser page right now. It will take anywhere from 3 seconds to 27 seconds.
CrowdRise is designed to help Volunteers and Fundraisers answer the call to service, raise money for Charity, and have the most fun in the world while doing it. To make sure we don't go out of business trying to help everyone raise lots of money for Charity, CrowdRise deducts 5% on donations made through our site and a $1 transaction fee for donations under $25 or a $2.50 transaction fee for donations $25 and over.
For example, with a $100 donation:
$100 Donation
-$5.00 (5%) CrowdRise's not wanting to go out of business fee
-$2.50 Transaction Fee
$92.50 goes to Charity

There's no better way to make a Fundraiser viral than by creating or joining a Fundraising Team.
A Fundraising Team is a group of Fundraisers or Volunteers, all working together for a common cause. It's like communism but more fun. Start or Join a Fundraising Team if you want to go beyond donating money and get more involved by spreading the word about the Fundraiser to your friends, family, co-workers, etc. Everyone on the Team gets their own Fundraising Page with the click of a button so we make it quick and easy to join the Team and even easier to tell your friends about it. Donating cash to a Fundraiser is amazing and much appreciated but imagine the impact you can have if you go a step further and ask everyone you know to donate too. And then a couple of them join the Team and spread the word to all their friends. We've seen this work successfully over and over and it can work for this Fundraiser too.
If you have any question about how to Join or set up a Team on CrowdRise, please Contact Us.
Share your Event Page with everyone you know and ask them to join the Event and/or Donate to your amazing cause. 97% of people you ask will say yes. And if they don't get involved, there's no reason to buy them a holiday or birthday gift ever again.
