I was playing outside with my son and realized i was too weak and tired to continue. I also realized the dissapointed look on his face meant that I was letting him down.
I vowed to get into shape for my son, Jack, and over the course of a year dropped 50 lbs and have more energy (although at age 8 Jack is still a challenge to keep up with) and also realized that precious few of my son's friends were in as good of shape as he is.
After researching I have come to understand that our lifestyles have developed into patterns that make it very easy to eat fast food and relax more and more. Because of the reduced activity our children will be the first generation who are predicted to not outlive their parents.
My focus is to raise awareness of childhood obesity and the related illnesses and help individual households make a lifesyle change to help our youth have longer and healthier lives.
WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:
I might not be the best Volunteer or Fundraiser but I'm decent at it and I can't think of a downside of throwing a vote my way.
