Kardon Institute for Arts Therapy's Fundraiser:
Every Voice Choral Festival
Kardon Institute for Arts Therapy
HERE'S THE STORY:
The Kardon Chorale has been together since June of 2000 and was created to provide a forum for adults and teens with a wide variety of disabilities to come together and sing. While many of the singers struggle with speech, they can be clearly heard and understood in song. Music is a platform for these individuals to achieve on a level playing field with their peers.
In April 2011, the Kardon Chorale will host a festival for area choirs that feature singers with special needs.
There are three main objectives of the 2010 Every Voice Choral Festival:
1) To provide an opportunity for choirs that feature special needs singers to showcase their talents, build relationships, learn from a master clinician, and perform collaboratively with other choirs.
2) To raise awareness among the Music Education community that inclusion of special needs singers in music ensembles can be beneficial to the special needs student as well as the whole group.
3) To develop a project that can be recreated in other regions of the country and the world, in order to further the previously stated goals beyond our own experience.
The Kardon Chorale's unofficial motto is "Every voice deserves to be heard." If you share that belief, consider contributing to this exciting project.
