One day while talking to a friend about my new found love for running he convinced me to sign up for my first half marathon. Though this alone would be an outstanding personal accomplishment I felt it wasn't enough. While browsing the site I came across the Connecticut Children's Medical Center team and instantly knew I wanted to be a part of this. This half-marathon suddenly became personal because 2 years ago I lost someone very special to me at the age of 16. He is such an inspiration to me in so many ways it really made me want to get out there and prove to myself I could do this. His short time here really tought me to cherish the simple pleasures in life I, and so many others, take for granted (like running). I am doing this charity and race for Kyle and all the other children out there fighting every day to get well.
