STUFF ABOUT ME:

"One hundred years from now...

It will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or what kind of car I drove, but the world will be different because I was important in the life of a child."

This March 9th I am going to go for 30 hours without food.  For 30 hours, I will NOT EAT ANYTHING, in order to experience the hunger that so many face on a daily basis.  As part of this End Hunger Fast I am raising funds to provide nutritious meals to severly malnurished children around the world.  Through 4others' partner, Feed My Starving Children, we can give nutritious meals for only 24 cents!

Will you sponsor me?

  • $24 = Provides 100 meals
  • $44 = Feeds a child for 6 months
  • $88 = Feeds a child for a year

100% of the donations I receive will go directly to these meals.  I will even get to hand pack these meals in the upcoming San Jose Food 4others MobilePack!

See http://www.4others.org/#/food-4others/food-4others-mobilepack for more details about the MobilePack.

Thank you so much for desiring to make a change in this world.

Previously on crowdrise...

On March 19th, I am going to walk 19 miles in the Willow Glen Walkabout to raise funds for my Church's upcoming 'MobilePack' benefiting the organization, Feed My Starving Children.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is an organization committed to providing food to starving children in over 60 countries, including Haiti, the Philippines, Zimbabwe, and North Korea!  Feed My Starving Children's meals have been designed by scientists from Cargill and General Mills specifically for children struggling with extreme malnutrition.  (This food product includes rice, soy, vegetables, a vegetarian-based chicken flavoring, and a vitamin and mineral mix.)

Each meal costs only 19 cents!

On April 29 & 30, 2011, we'll be partnering with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) to conduct a huge MobilePack event here in San Jose. In just two days, we'll be hand-packing tens of thousands of nutritious meals for starving children.  4others has committed to packing a minimum of 100,000 MEALS during this two-day event. That means we'll need to raise at least $19,000 to pay for the meals, and recruit enough volunteers to fill 500 two-hour packing shifts!

So, please donate just $19 and you will feed 100 very hungry children!

Food and water is a neccessary and no one should go hungry or thirsty when there is so much food and water in the world.

Thank you!

I recently traveled with my youth group to Death Valley...we walked 15 miles (from Badwater Basin to Furnice Creek), through 122 degree heat! Why? To raise awareness and funds to build clean water wells in Africa! Our goal was to raise $10,000 to build 3 new wells...& we reached our goal!!! We raised over 11 thousand dollars!!! & we are still raising funds and awareness to help those who have no clean water to drink! Imagine that. The average African uses about 5 gallons of water everyday...for us, that equals one toilet flush! crazy. So you can still make a difference and save a life by donating to the African Water Project (www.africanwaterproject.org). Give life by giving $10 ... that provides water to an African for their entire life!

FACTS:
-Every 15 seconds a child dies because he or she did not have clean safe water to drink!
-Women and children miss an opportunity to have an education or a job because they are walking an avg. of 4 hours every day to fetch infected water.
-$1 provides 1 African clean water for an entire year!
-Just $10 gives 1 African water for their entire life!

EVERY dollar makes an incredible difference! Let's change the world!

WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:

Vote if you, too, believe every child deserves to eat a nutritious meal and have access to clean water everyday.

'May the Votes' Be Ever in Your Favor :)

Hi Kirsten! I hope May is treating you well!!!

We wanted to see if you're in the neighborhood to bring PURE JOY to a very deserving child's life... A $20 donation will provide a birthday celebration and cake for one of our 25 students- an experience they have NEVER HAD in their life. Can you imagine never getting to celebrate your special day and not ever eating a piece of cake in your entire life? Well, either can us, so we want to change that for our extremely hard working students!

Donate $20 to provide the once in a lifetime memory for one of our students, and we'll provide you a picture of the event- something you can cherish forever as well :)

Cheers and Happy Crowdrising,

Happy March! This is a month of really awesome holidays. International Women's Day, International Reading Day, Dr. Seuss Day, St Patrick's Day.. and who could forget Alien Abduction Day?

In honor of these wonderful holidays, many of which support women and reading, To Mother With Love is announcing a $500 challenge grant from a local donor. Every dollar donated to our project, up to $500, will be matched! Please give to support the women of Ikenne, Nigeria, who have for so long sacrificed for their children to become educated, but cannot read themselves. If you are unable to donate this month, please pass along this opportunity or become a team member. Thank you for your support!
