My name is Kristee and I live in Tucson, Arizona with my boyfriend (Adam) and our two bunnies (Kelso and Sadie). I'm an animal-lover and plan on going back to Pima Community College in the fall to get my Certificate of Veterinary Assistance.
In the meantime, I spend the majority of my days at the Tucson Wildlife Center, a non-profit organization whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release any orphaned, sick, or injured desert wildlife. We take in everything from mammals (javelinas, bobcats, coyotes, coatis, raccoons, skunks) to birds (hawks, owls, roadrunners, doves). If the animal is sick or injured, they'll nurse it back to health. If the animal is orphaned, they'll either find their family and release it back to them or have one of our surrogates raise it. If the animal is unable to be released, then they'll live with us on the property and be used for educational purposes. One of the big projects TWC has coming up is the construction of our wildlife hospital--so we need all the donations we can get. The more time I spend there, the more I look at it as a second home, so I want to help raise more funds so that we can make that hospital the best one it can be.
