THE STORY:
Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Chuck Sketch will be ready to ride the LA Marathon as the first ever blind, double amputee to compete in the race. Chuck is an accomplished swimmer and skier and also a competitor in the military's Warrior Games.
On March 27th, just one week after the LA Marathon, Chuck will be one of 200 riders participating in Ride 2 Recovery's Texas Challenge which will take riders on a 6 day, 350 mile trek from San Antonio to Arlington, Texas. Ride 2 Recovery is produced by the Fitness Challenge Foundation, (501c3) in partnership with the Military and VA Volunteer Service Office, to benefit mental and physical rehabilitation programs for our Country's wounded veterans that feature cycling as the core activity.
"The Chuck Wagon" is a specially designed, one-of-a-kind tandem: a recumbent in the front and handcycle in the bike, which allows Chuck to reach speeds of over 20mph. Support Chuck's effort by donating to R2R on our CrowdRise page, our directly through our website: www.ride2recovery.com
