My goal is $21,000 dollars ($500 a kilometer). I am running the Boston Marathon for the third time because I so believe in the work being done by the fabulous Pediatric Heme-Onc team at Massachusetts General Hospital. Plus they continue to treat Ronnie who is now 5 years post diagnosis. Quick reminder, Ronnie has a pilocytic astrocytoma in his brain stem. He's doing well and his prognosis remains excellent. We are nearly done with round 2 of chemo.
Over 90% of your donations go directly to pediatric cancer care and research. Anyone who donates at least $21 gets a 'Just 21 Club' sticker. I just need 1000 friends and their friends and friends of their friends to join the club and I'll meet my goal. You can see the sticker in my photos section. Special thanks to Patrick Cleary for designing it for me. I'm doing the scarf thing again too. One lucky donor will get a handknit scarf. I will draw the winners name after the marathon - winner gets to make color and fiber choice. Finally, I am putting on an event at the Boston Center for the Arts Plaza Black Box Theater on March 13th. Come on out to The 10 MInutes and Running Shorts Festival. Kids, I'm sorry, I just found out this site has an (optional) charity processing fee. I've looked into it, for online donations I don't think there's a way to get around it. If you'd rather mail a check or hand deliver a check, please let me know.
