Come closer...did you know in the United States alone, 95 million people have housing problems. That’s one third of the nation. These problems include payments too large in relationship to income, overcrowding, poor quality shelter and homelessness.
As the Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake's Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project, I have the opportunity to use my talent and expertise to work on an initiative that revitalizes neighborhoods through homeownership. To broaden my efforts, I have joined Habitat's Individual Fundraising Campaign to raise $1,000 to help eradicate poverty housing in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
We all pay a price when families are unable to find or afford decent, stable housing for themselves and their children. When you build a Habitat house, you raise a home, you lift up a family, and you strengthen a community.
