Make-A-Wish® Hawaii grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Make-A-Wish® Hawaii grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Make-A-Wish Hawaii is a charitable non-profit organization that is dedicated to making every eligible child’s wish come true. Our purpose is to provide children and their families with an experience that is dramatically different from hospitals and treatments. We believe in the transformative “power of a wish.” A wish offers welcome respite – a time of normalcy and even hope, strength and joy that will give a child and their family magical, lasting memories for years to come.
Founded in 1982, Make-A-Wish® Hawaii has granted over 800 wishes to children in Hawaii. Every year, 100 local children are diagnosed with a life threatening medical condition. Our goal is to offer a life-giving wish experience to each one of them. Additionally, the Hawaii Chapter has the unique opportunity to extend the spirit of aloha by hosting the wishes of over 750 kids and their families coming to Hawaii to have their wish granted each year.
Through our partnerships, we will continue to make strides in reaching every eligible wish child and expand our medical outreach and volunteer programs to the neighbor islands. All of our fundraising efforts benefit local wish children and all proceeds remain right here in the State of Hawaii.
Make-A-Wish Hawaii depends on the generosity of individual, corporate and organization donations, outside special events, workplace giving campaigns, bequests, grants and in-kind donations. We also host several fundraising events throughout the year. The average cost to fulfill a wish is $10,000.
