Joined Crowdrise so I can; help ease (people's) suffering, protect endangered animals and clean up the environment.
I grew up a severe asthmatic, and spent alot of time indoors as a kid. This made me really appreciate anytime I had outdoors, and learned at a young age (through a group of friends when we were camp counselors) to always try and leave your place in nature better than you found it, so it's better for the next person to enjoy it. I find it very easy just to pick something up on the beach, give to a fundraiser, help educate kids, learn how to protect our surroundings, and give back to the community.
Now that I have outgrew my asthma, I spend as much time as I can in the ocean, kayaking rivers, hiking, taking pictures, etc. This would explain my passion for helping with environmental initiatives, especially high impact, local efforts.
