Sending out a big Thank You to the Rockhopper Team that helped us throughout 2011 on the Nightingale Oil Spill. We have met our initial goal. This was clearly one of the most catastrophic disasters for wildlife on the islands of the Tristan Archipelago. We waited for the final #'s to come back in early November and were told that they would not be released. The disappointment was more than we talk about - the betrayal to the wildlife was unimaginable. The money we raised through Crowdrise (& YOU) along with Disney Conservation is going toward the first project EVER to tag many of the remaining Rockhoppers that returned to the islands. Headed by renowned scientists Rory Wilson (Wales) and Peter Ryan (Cape Town) we will now have a jump on the behavior of Rockhoppers should future man made disasters occur. We cannot thank you enough for your belief in our Team - and the courage you showed in supporting a project that had little support in the environmental community. YOU ARE OUR HEROES.
