PERSONAL WEBSITE: Medicus Foundation
ROCK PAPER OR SCISSORS: Rock
STUFF ABOUT ME:

I am a single mother of one trying to make a difference one dollar at a time for people in need! This is my second year volunteering for The Medicus Foundation through their "Gateway2Giving" program. The foundation was developed to raise funds and awareness for deserving causes. The charities that have personally touched our hearts for the last two years represented the following to each of us:

American Pride:
Support Our Troops

Children with Hopes and Dreams:
University Hospitals – Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital - Catan Pediatric Oncology Research Fund
Chris Kirkpatrick Foundation - established to enhance the lives of underprivileged children throughout the United States
American Junior Golf Association - Ace Grant - was created to Provide Financial Support to Junior Golfers who have the ability to play in AJGA events – but not the financial resources.

Disease that has affected us:
Team Fox for Parkinson’s Research - dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda

Go to www.medicusfoundation.org to find out more about us and the charities that we support.

This year the Medicus Foundation is holding its 2nd Annual Golf Scramble at Blue Heron Golf Club, Medina, Ohio on August 7, 2010. We would love to see you there but if you are unable to attend the Golf Outing we would appreciate your support by becoming a Family Sponsor and donating $25 to our foundation.

Thank you!

WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:

I enjoy helping out in any way that I can. If I can help to raise funds to make a child smile, or to help a child survive a horrible disease, or to help a Military Family while their loved one is fighting for our freedom, then I can hold my head high and know that I have made a difference for someone! I might not be the best Volunteer or Fundraiser but I'm decent at it and I can't think of a downside of throwing a vote my way. So please, help me make a difference and "Give Back"!

Happy May! It’s finally spring, and kids will soon be running out the school doors into sweet summer freedom. But over 19,000,000 children across the country do not own a single book. Can you imagine a summer without even a little fun reading?

Please take a minute to check out Reader to Reader's newest fundraiser with Twive & Receive: http://twive.razoo.com/story/Amherst-Loves-Books Your donation on June 14th could help us win a share of $30,000! Now more than ever, the smallest donation can have a huge impact. You can sign up for a reminder email on our page, or if you just can't wait to get books in the hands of children, donate now. Thank you for your support!

Happy April, CR friend!
Reader to Reader is auctioning off some great artwork to raise funds for our many international programs, thanks to our friends at the ART4GOOD Foundation. If you like art, books, or education, stop by and take a look at the 35 beautiful pieces available! http://bit.ly/HjFtMO
You get a beautiful piece of art, and RTR can:
-provide special education programs for children in the Dominican Republic;
-teach women to read in Nigeria;
-keep abandoned children in childhood through reading and improve theater in rural China;
-sponsor Haitian kids to finish school;
-continue to grow our public library in a coffee-farming Costa Rican village;
AND support many other programs that do wonderful work in India, Mexico, Nicaragua, Kosovo, Ghana and other countries.
If art isn’t your thing, you can still support our programs by donating or joining our team. Take a look at my projects to see more of what we do.
All the best, and HAPPY READING,
Kat
