Tomorrow's the BIG DAY! I can't wait to see all those kids' smiling faces and all those families being fed!

THE STORY:

Within Fresno County lies the rural community of Mendota, the current unemployment capital of CA. Poverty has become such an issue that an unprecedented number of people are lining up to receive food assistance. There had been news stories of mothers boiling out-of-date milk and reusing disposable diapers for their children. Last time we were there, we provided a meal for a family who had not eaten in 2 days!
To help meet this overwhelming need for food, we will be travelling back to Mendota on Saturday, August 14 to provide a BBQ meal for 1,000 people. In addition, we're going to hold a "Kids' Day" full of carnival games, prizes, face painting, and inflatables for the many children. (Just imagine... many of us think nothing of renting a bounce house for a child's birthday party. And yet, so many of these children have never been in one! We're excited to give these kids a fun day they won't forget!)
Through this event, our goal is to not only meet a practical need, but to also give hope. We want to encourage the good people of Mendota, and let them know that people do care about their plight.
Will you help us show love to the community of Mendota? Please donate now.
