Our Mission
Support our mission by creating your own fundraiser. Welcome to Mentors of Minorities in Education's Total Learning Cis-Tem - also known as M.O.M.I.E's TLC. We are a DC-based nonprofit organization dedicated to “nurturing the genius” of our children. Our model uniquely integrates creative and culturally-relevant out-of-school time programs, opportunities for parent and community engagement, and the sharing of educational tools and resources for the community.
M.O.M.I.E’s purpose is to transform education for at-risk children of color through an educational model that uses social justice and cultural education as the foundation for improving academic outcomes for our children.M.O.M.I.E's vision is to cultivate our children to become future leaders and agents of social change by broadening their social consciousness and awareness, and developing critical competencies that enable them to succeed in school, college, and beyond. We seek to tap into and unleash the "genius" that lies in our children, and implement an educational model that can be replicated locally, nationally, and globally.
M.O.M.I.E’s is part of a grassroots movement to build a progressive, nurturing and just community that the people of D.C. want and deserve. We hope you will join us.
