BENEFITING: Best Friends Animal Society
THE STORY:
My name is Yvonne. Recently, our sweet doggie Moose passed away. He was the love of our lives and our hearts. Before he died, I told him I would live purpose--fully on this earth and help homeless animals. I'm just beginning that journey and am looking forward to helping all the furries I can. So, I'm raising money for Best Friends Animal Society.
Best Friends started a "No More Homeless Pets" campaign to place dogs and cats who were considered "unadoptable" into good homes, and to reduce the number of unwanted pets through effective spay and neuter programs.
Best Friends has the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the United States. It is located in Kenab, Utah, which houses 2,000 dogs, cats, birds, pigs, etc., on any given day. They help animals through disasters -- Katrina, Haiti, BP oil spill. They work with local communities to set up spay/neuter, shelter, foster, and adoption programs.
And, they do all of their work through positive attitudes, pure compassion, and love. Moose embodied and taught me those traits and I want to support this group that holds and honors those characteristics.
