HERE'S THE STORY:
We’re all about sharing (and caring – had to be said) at New York Cares. Maybe our sharing borders on obsessive compulsive, but that’s only because we care so much about the thousands of homeless and hungry people in New York City, nearly half of whom are children. That’s why our volunteers show up like clockwork at hunger projects we host all across the city.
We don’t usually ask people to hand over food from their own homes; what we really need are friendly people to serve meals and flash their very best smiles at some folks that aren’t having their best day. It’s always nice to know someone is willing to look your way, especially when it’s easy it is to be overlooked in a city as big as ours.
But what if you need a day to sleep in and can’t get out of bed to volunteer? That’s fine; everyone needs a day off. That’s where your keyboard and mouse come in. Just clickety-click on that Donate button, and your contribution will ensure our meal programs stay around to help hungry people for a long time. It’ll give you that warm, fuzzy feeling that we all like so much.
