New York Cares' Fundraiser:
Youth Service Clubs
New York Cares
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Apr 30, 2011
HERE'S THE STORY:
Before you turn 18, the list of things you can’t do seems endless. You can’t buy a house; you can’t get a real job; you can’t run for president (maybe for good reason). Most kids believe that there’s not a lot they can do on their own.
If you’re one of those kids, New York Cares is calling out to you. Our award-winning Youth Service Clubs program mobilizes teen volunteers and inspires them to become lifelong contributors to the city. We educate public high school students in New York City about social issues, engage them in youth-led service projects, and provide leadership training.
We can’t help teenagers get into the White House, but we can teach them about all the things they can do. We think making a lasting impact on the community through volunteering is just a tad cooler than doing doughnuts in your parents’ car in the parking lot. A $20 donation is all it takes to keep a teen out of trouble and on the road to a bright future.
All donations will support New York Cares' general programming, which provides critical services to 400,000 at-risk New Yorkers each year. For information on making donations to support specific programs, please contact Jennifer.Goldschein@newyorkcares.org.
