Twenty-three years ago, the Super Awesome Friend Force sprang into action to dispel the evil elements of hunger, poverty, and illiteracy from New York City. Nowadays, New York Cares is the city's leading volunteer organization, offering volunteer support to a thousand nonprofit agencies, public schools, and other deserving organizations. We've made superheroes out of average citizens by allowing them to volunteer on their own time and do what they want to do, all for the betterment of this crazy city of ours.
Our solemn oath is to keep New York Cares doing what it's been doing all these years – defending civilians from the dastardly demons of disadvantage and poverty. We've done well so far. But just as evil never sleeps, neither will we – at least, until New York City is as sparkly and wonderful as we know it can be.
