On November 7, 2010, Team Christopher (aka Mario) will be running in the ING New York City Marathon and hoping to raise research funds for the NewYork-Presbyterian’s Morgan Stanley Childrens Hospital of Columbia University Medical Center. In the last 5 years alone there has been significant advances in pediatric orthopaedic treatments, including treatment of severe scoliosis and kyphosis. It is surreal to us that without these new techniques, our 2 ½ yr old son, Christopher, would not have the same chances at a normal life that he has today. NewYork-Presbyterian’s Morgan Stanley Childrens Hospital of Columbia University Medical Center is proud to be recognized as one of the eight best children’s hospitals in America. They have a wonderful pediatric orthopaedic team which is helping to advance orthopaedic care for children like Christopher around the world.
One of the reasons in running the New York Marathon is to inspire Christopher and big brother Matthew. To teach them the importance of meeting difficult challenges with hard work and committment. We have some work ahead of us dealing with Christopher's spinal condition but we are committed to making sure he has the best care and access to the latest treatments. With your help, research will go on and we'll continue to make the dramatic strides in pediatric orthopaedics that will greatly improve the quality of life for kids with musculosketetal disorders. Donations are 95% tax-deductible and will benefit both Pediatric Orthopaedic Research funds.
