I'd like to help raise money for the All About Animals Rescue in Michigan. With the economy as bad as it is in Michigan right now, a lot of people have to give up their pets. Some of the rescue shelters can't keep all of the animals and end up having to euthanize them. All About Animals is a no-kill rescue and could use a lot of support to keep these animals healthy and help find homes for them.
According to All About Animals Rescue, in order to adopt out every dog and cat, every person would have to own 21 cats and 7 dogs. That simply isn't feasible so aggressive spay/neuter programs are the answer. In the Detroit area, approximately 62% of pets entering shelters are put to sleep. On average 50% of the dogs and 90% of cats don't make it. For the most part, it's not because the shelters don't want to find them homes, it's that there are too many pets.
