I've been on the board of Our Time Theatre for 4 years. I'm really proud of this organization and the work they are doing to give kids a chance at something really special.
Our Time Theatre Company is an organization that uses theater and the arts to improve the lives of kids who stutter. Our Time is the first and only organization in the nation that uses theater to instill confidence and build communication skills in kids who stutter. The company welcomes an incredible diversity of kids into a supportive community where they are encouraged to express themselves and be themselves, without fear of judgment and ridicule. Our Time participants gain friendships, develop communication skills, and experience success, empowering them to pursue their dreams and not let stuttering hold them back.
Theater is the most thrilling thing to do as an actor. There's something magical about a shared experience in a theater, with actors and an audience. I know I learn new things every time I step onto the stage and I know these kids are having that same experience. In a place where they feel safe and supported and free to be goofy and have fun.
