I am so excited to be part of the 2012 Perkins Team for the Boston Marathon. My inspiration to run and raise money for Perkins is a little girl named Alexis. Alexis attends Perkins and is the daughter of one of my co-workers. She is a very special girl with an infectious laugh that is guarranteed to make you smile.
Learning about the opportunities and services Perkins provides for children like Alexis has shown me that Perkins is a wonderful and special place. As a mom of two young children I am especially passionate about the well-being of kids. I believe that every child deserves to have what they need to help them learn and grow to their full potential. For Alexis and other visually impaired children I know that Perkins is the best place for that to happen.
