PROJECT HAVE HOPE INC
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Mar 15, 2012
HERE'S THE STORY:
Project Update: With the money raised so far, Project Have Hope has been able to rebuild one wall of the mushroom house! See the picture to the left for the reconstructed wall.
Thank you for your support, and tell your friends about us to help us reach $750 and rebuild the entire mushroom house!
Project Have Hope aims to raise $750 to rebuild a mushroom house, which allows women in the Acholi Quarter to earn an income through the sale of their crops.
To help women in the Acholi Quarter earn a sustainable income, Project Have Hope constructed a mushroom house in 2009 made of mud walls and papyrus roofing, and provided training to a group of women on growing and selling mushrooms in the local markets. Over the years, the project has proven to be a success. The profits from mushroom sales enabled these women to increase their household incomes so that they can feed their families, educate their children, and rebuild their communities.
However, due to extreme weather conditions, the original structure is in dire need of repair. The women were able to use their profits to reconstruct a partial cement wall and flooring, but more work needs to be done. With a little help, they can continue to grow their crops and increase their profits.
Help Project Have Hope raise $750 to rebuild the mushroom house in the Acholi Quarter.
A newer, stronger structure made of bricks and cement will last longer. Of the $750, $330 purchases bricks, $300 purchases cement, and $120 purchases plaster and sand.
Your donation will help these women build a brighter future for their families and community. Help, and a little hope, goes a long way!
