Project Have Hope works with a group of 100 women in the Acholi Quarter of Uganda and helps them transform their lives and the lives of their families. Through the sale of their beautiful, handmade paper bead jewelry, the women can feed their families, send their children to school, and look forward to a richer future. Our Programs and How You can Help
Schooling Programs - Project Have Hope currently sponsors 96 children and teenagers ranging from age 5 to 21. Project Have Hope enrolls children in day schools and boarding schools in order to best suit the individual needs of children and their families. Become a Sponsor Today!
Adult Literacy - In 2007, Project Have Hope built a community center in the Acholi Quarter that today, in addition to hosting community meetings and celebrations, is where PHH offers adult literacy classes. You can start a fundraiser to raise $150, which covers a teacher's salary in our adult literacy program for one month.
Vocational Studies - For members of the PHH community who have completed some degree of formal education and wish to continue their studies, PHH provides a variety of vocational training through local schools. Courses have included catering, hairstyling and salon management, tailoring, computer and general office skills studies, and driver’s education. Your fundraiser can raise money for one woman's vocational training program!
Sack Gardens - Project Have Hope partnered with the Ugandan Rural Development Team to train 20 PHH members on a "sack gardening technique" (planting vegetables in jute bags). Women can sell the the produce within the Acholi Quarter and surrounding markets. Raise money to buy sack gardens for a family in Uganda! One sack garden is only $25.
