The Red Wolf Coalition is a one-of-a-kind conservation organization. We are the cheerleaders, fundraisers, educators, and advocates for one of the world’s least known and most endangered animals—the red wolf.
These tough, resilient cousins of the gray wolf (you know…the wolf you always see on the calendars) have dodged the bullet of extinction several times. But, nearly 40 years ago, a few visionary individuals took steps to bring this wildlife native back to the wild in North Carolina.
The challenges to ongoing efforts to keep the small population of red wolves thriving and expanding are pretty daunting. But hurricanes, fires, floods, apathy, and wolf hatred have not kept the red wolf and the Red Wolf Coalition from the biggest challenges of all—staying alive and doing their jobs!
Thanks to Crowdrise and to other believers in what we do, we have secured the funds to build a red wolf viewing facility. But the Red Wolf Coalition needs help NOW to keep our programs going and to ramp up our efforts to keep wild red wolves howling, hunting and raising their families.
We have set a fundraising goal of $30,000 by December 31, 2011. Please, please send the wolves a little love in the form of a donation!
