STUFF ABOUT ME:
I have been in the teaching field since 1971 but nothing can compare to the rewards that come with tutoring children that are hospitalized. I've had the good fortune and pleasure of teaching ages 4-74 throughout my career, but substitute teaching and volunteering for sick children is by far the most humbling and inspiring experience I've even encountered. Children’s Hospital of Illinois (OSF Healthcare), located in Peoria, Illinois, is wonderful but like so many educational facilities with tight budgets, we too desperately need laptop computers, educational games and books for our patients. This remarkable classroom services 2,000 pediatric patients from 40-50 school districts throughout Illinois on a yearly basis. Remember, giving directly to the pediatric classroom will make a profound difference for all of these kids needing to stay caught up with their school work while in the hospital plus, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you have made a difference. Please accept my sincere and profound thanks on behalf of the classroom teacher, her aide and all of the dedicated volunteers. Thank you!!!
