I guess I'm a little schizo or get just get distracted easliy. Most of my adult life has been spent as an architect, but I've also been a construction manager, author, activist and founder of a nonprofit, the Augusta Greenway Alliance. The Alliance is also on Crowdrise, so please give it a look.
The Augusta Greenway Alliance moniker is a bit confusing. Most folks think we are attempting to build, finance or maintain a recreational greenway. Nope. We started off attempting to spearhead an innovative, sustainable transportatoin corridor (an urban "green"-way) through downtown Augusta, Georgia. Augusta is the global capital of the low speed electric vehicle industry.
Call us crazy, but we think these vehicles have a role to play in 21st Century walkable, urban environments, which is where the action is in today's real estate industry. They are quiet, clean, compact and affordable.
Ditch your internal combustion car, and watch your bank account swell by about $10K per year. No more sending all that money to petrodictators and multinational oilcos. Help the environment, help your local economy and spend all that dough on something better.
Just imagine the potential to expand transportation ownership to folks of lesser means. With transportation come access to jobs, healthcare and other essentials for a decent quality of life.
