The SANDY HOOK RUN FOR THE FAMILIES is not about running. It is about life: honoring the memory of precious lives lost through tragedy and celebrating the gift of life. It is about uniting in hope for the future.

Your donation goes to THE SANDY HOOK SCHOOL SUPPORT FUND, administered by the United Way of Western Connecticut in partnership with Newtown Savings Bank. A local board of Newtown community leaders is being convened to determine how the fund is most needed and will be best utilized. The United Way and Newtown Savings Bank have waived all administration fees to the fund.

The Hartford Marathon Foundation has donated all services to plan and conduct the event. There will be out-of-pocket costs. If you would like to contribute to help defray the cost of the event, please contact Beth Shluger, Race Director, at beth@hartfordmarathon.com.
