Party for LIFE is a nonprofit effort that collects the talents of local musicians to raise money for local non-profil nokill avarious charities, by putting on benefit shows. Bands and other acts donate their time, play our shows, and some let us use their music to put in the compilation CD. They are all total BADASSES! It made us proud of the local music scene to see so many bands and performers unselfishly offer what they could to help out other life in need. They know and understand the value of life and took the opportunity presented to do something good with their gifts and have a good time. Badasses.
It’s all about RESPECTING LIFE. Not JUST about animals, or JUST children, or JUST homeless people, EVERYONE. We ALL have this GIFT of life that is just as important as any one else’s gift of life, and we ALL deserve to live it. It SHOULD be respected. We want to expand and help as many different lives as we can, while we can. We don’t expect to “save millions of lives” with our efforts, or are under the illusion that we will “end hunger and pain and suffering”. We just want to HELP.
We’re not rich, we’re not celebrities or politicians, we don’t have any kind of popularity or major influence over a lot of people. We don’t have much money at all and are struggling to make it by just like the majority of the population in this country. But we know that there are lives out there that have it MUCH WORSE than WE do. MUCH worse,…so we are doing what we can with what we know to raise money for THEM. We are ALL HERE TOGETHER and should ALL STICK TOGETHER and HAVE EACH OTHER’S BACKS.
In addition to the benefit shows, we have put together the Party for LIFE Compilation CD featuring original music by some of those recently mentioned badass local bands. This CD is the first of a series that is to be sold for $5 at our benefit shows. 100% of the money made off of them will go straight into the total for the charity of that night. We also just got in some buttons and patches that we will sell for $1 each.
I am excited to hook up with Crowdrise and get a chance to make our shows a little more successful and to find other charities looking for help.
