SPP Matching Campaign
Amount Raised:
$2,100
4% Raised of $50,000 Goal
The Society for Pediatric Pathology (SPP) is a non-profit professional organization which promotes expertise, effective teaching and productive research in the study of diseases of children.
Financial support of the AWARD fund for the SPP will promote and foster education and research in Pediatric Pathology.
What does the SPP AWARD fund finance?
1. Awards in Pediatric Pathology
The SPP has several “Named” awards that were begun with donations made in the name of an important figure in Pediatric Pathology. The SPP sustains these awards through continued donations and growth of the Awards fund.
SPP Named Awards include:
Gordon F. Vawter Pathologist-in-Training Award
Harry B. Neustein Memorial Award
Enid Gilbert Barness Prize
Lotte Strauss Prize
Other awards such as the Perinatal Pathology award and the Resident Recruitment award are also supported by the SPP award fund.
2. Grants for research
The Young Investigator Research Grant (YIRG) is a $10,000 grant given yearly to a deserving researcher in Pediatric Pathology. Applications are judged by the SPP Research committee.
3. Additional initiatives, awards or grants as suggested by the membership SPP “Matching” Campaign
The SPP has committed operating fund reserves to match dollar for dollar the first $50,000 in donations. So your contribution to the award fund will be automatically doubled by the SPP.
The goals of this campaign are to:
1. Increase funding of pediatric pathology research grants
2. Help sustain existing SPP awards.
3. Help fund potential new initiatives in pediatric pathology.
Donations raised through this campaign will go only the SPP Temporarily restricted fund (AKA the Award fund) and only be used for awards or grants. (A small percentage of your donation will defray the cost of this website.)
