I love all things small and furry, am the president of the American Gerbil Society, an animal expert on smallanimalchannel.com, and travel the country doing small animal education including judging at 4H and rodent shows. I wrote a still-popular gerbil book in 2005 and a chinchilla guide in 2008 promoting these charming, engaging creatures as companion animals, not coats. My current project is co-athoring a book with Libby Hanna of Shawsheen River Rescue on establishing an in-home, small animal rescue.
My first novel is Spin the Plate, published May 2010 at the sametime Crowdrise launched. One thread in the book is innovative technology-use for philanthropic purposes. Mostly though it is about woman who roams the streets of Boston at night to forget her past and feed her two passions: rescuing mistreated creatures and inflicting bodily harm on their perpetrators.
