Children's Storefront wrote -
On Sunday, November 7, 2010 five friends of The Children’s Storefront will run in the NYC Marathon in support of this tuition-free school in Harlem. By pledging a donation you will help the Storefront raise much needed funds. The school is in its 45th year and eighty percent of the families that we serve live at/or below poverty level. This pre-K through 8th grade school, including a strong after-school program, changes children and families lives. Ninety-seven percent of our funding is private. We survive on donations and events like this.
