StoryStudio is a program run by Urban Arts Partnership, a nonprofit which uses arts-integrated education programs to advance the intellectual, social and artistic development of underserved public school students.
StoryStudio.is a model arts integration program that combines visual and theater arts opportunities with literacy instruction for recent immigrant students. By integrating the arts into the daunting task of learning a new language, such as finding ways to creatively tell their own personal stories, students are better able to learn and perfect their English skills.
Additional funding will allow Urban Arts to expand this program within its current site in Manhattan’s Chinatown as well as to two other high poverty schools in Queens.
Your gift will help us reach more students and teachers through curriculum designed to advance the creative experience and the social and academic use of the English language for high poverty recent immigrant youth.
