COMMITTED 2 COMMUNITY's Fundraiser:
Supporting Veterans through C2C
THE STORY:
Committed 2 Community is dedicated to supporting returned Veterans and their families. More than 300,000 service members have suffered from physical wounds and/or post traumatic stress from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Treatment is arduous and rehabilitation agonizing. Patients can be in the hospital for anywhere from three months to two years.
The money raised for Veterans through C2C's Race for Free program will go to funding local community programs that support our nation's returned troops and their families as they deal with the emotional, physical, and financial challenges of re-entering society.
C2C/The SF Marathon supports veterans by making financial contributions to the following:
The Bay Area VA Medical Center
The VA’s primary objective is to serve the Veteran and his/her family through compassionate, innovative, comprehensive, accessible quality patient care in a safe and supportive environment while promoting excellence in research and education. VA hospitals and medical centers in Palo Alto and San Francisco serve as regional referral centers and receive patients from the entire West Coast and often further.
